Bladen County Division on Aging provides services
for older adults in Bladen County. Services are available for people
60 years of age or older and there are no income eligibility guidelines.
The following is a list of programs provided.

Bladen Area Rural Transportation System (BARTS)
Bladen Area Rural Transportation System, also
known as BARTS, is a community transportation system that provides
a variety of transportation needs for citizens of Bladen County.
Not only is there human service transportation, there is also public
transportation. The following is a list of some of the different
kinds of transportation.

shopping and recreational outings. |

Weekly out of town medical trips including routes for Lumberton,
Chapel Hill and Durham, Fayetteville, Wilmington and Whiteville |

Bladen County Adult Day Care Center
Bladen County Adult Day Care Center is a program
helping adults who cannot manage all the tasks of daily living by
themselves. Individuals who may benefit from this program include
family members and caregivers who must work. Also, caregivers who
have no other support are enabled to take care of activities they
otherwise could not attend to without assistance by enrolling their
family member in the program.
Participants are encouraged to engage in activities
specifically designed to give them a feeling of success and to heighten
their socialization., perceptual and physical skills. A daily schedule
is followed which includes stimulation discussion, arts and crafts,
games, chair exercises, meals, plus rest and relaxation.
